I thought this thread would be about renting a car.

while on the river walk u should have ambled on over to dicks last resort fun place to go. And in that same building its in stands the only hospital that san antonio has that is in a high rise on the 23 floor and that has windows to see out side from an operating room

There's one at the West End in Dallas.

Yeah, that's my point. So why would I got to a different city and visit a chain?*

I'm unfamiliar with the cultural significance of this building. And wikipedia is just so so far away. Details?*
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

the dicks here is different then the one i went to in dallas. the one in dallas was mild compared to the one on the river walk. Most of the folks that visit it are toursists and they can act insane as they usually do. But on another note away from downtown which u didnt seem to amble are 4 to 5 other missions that are also from the texas revoloution and pretty nice. But all in all i hope ya had a great time in the city.

The Alamo was a mission-turn-fort, in which 52 Texacans, Tennesseans, etc. made a last stand against 5,000+ Mexican troops under Gen. Santa Ana. IIRC, only a woman and a couple of kids survived the massacre.

The battle delayed Santa Ana's northward march and gave Houston and Austin time to put together and train an army that eventually led to the independence of Texas from Mexico.

Only in name. I was in Texas once and it felt like I was in Mexico.
