These are people who think that the most people (including their kids apparently) need the idea of God, to help them be better people. The Church is also a good place for them to socialize (this is mostly a reason for younger people who go to various church groups). They see the RCC as a good influence on modern society esp compared to other forms of spritiual life (there is a slight cult scare over here)
There are also those who view this as a form of tradition that links them to their ancestors much like how secular Jews still describe themselves as Jews there area some Slovenian Catholics who feel that way.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
