When I was about 5 years old, my ex-uncle picked up a habit of beating my aunt while drunk. Eventually my aunt got around to telling family some of what happened. My dad went over there in the middle of the night and warned the dude that if he ever heard any word of it again, he was coming back with a baseball bat, and he would have to learn how to walk again.

That, and my other uncle who had some very shady Italian-themed business going, meant the end of the beatings. They divorced a few years later.

Over here it you beat someone that is cause for arrest so I advise against getting together an angry mob.
My dad had a simple way to explain that away. Canadian law would only lock him up for a few months probably, in the very worst case, a year. My ex-uncle would have trouble walking the rest of his life.

Well you can't do anything for him or even for her. You are right that she has a problem. A lot of times family members hurt more than they help when people are hurting themselves like this. I would be carefull about trying to help your sister. Tell her that you care about her and that you don't like seeing her hurt but you don't like it when she keeps going back to him. That's about all you can do. Try not to help her out when she gets into messes. She will have to learn the hard way.

Sorry, but WRONG! It's a felony and will end up pretty bad for you depending on how bad you beat him up.

I have a friend of a friend who is very interested in homosexual pornography and jail culture but in fact, has two girlfriends (they are beginning to suspect that he is seeing someone else, and a catfight is imminent). Do you guys think that I should shut off his porno? It's all on a hard drive that I can take a magnet to. The only issue is, is this my business? I don't want him to be the next Ted "Porn made me kill thirty girls" Bundy.

Why do you care about his porn or girlfriends?
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Better test the magnet on your own hard drive first, sometimes you get a faulty magnet that just won't work, or worse yet, a horny magnet which just downloads more porn.

What makes you think it's acceptable to do things like this to your so called friends? It's hard to believe that you have any. Are you sure you aren't just talking about different personalities that you have?
