Do US bases move out of the region? if not then it becomes ours. If so it is probably still ours if for no other reason then we want those bases.

What happens to the 50,000 US soldiers in Germany? And even if they all disappear, wouldn't they provide us with a reasonable claim to teh region?

No Europe = Middle Eastern rulers would own the world. All of America, all of South America, all of Asia, all of Africa and all of Pacifica. Everything.

What the world would be like I can't tell, it would either be ****ing incredible, or ****ing terrible.

Herr Esson: ja, and they're quite backward in spirit, dreaming of the gone empire and thinking Hitler a great statesman, the like, what you get if you put a 19th century society into the 21st without the first hand experience of the 20th.

Moving into and re-populating a completely pristine area the size of Europe would take several decades, roads, ports, farms and whole cities would need to be built with materials moved in from huge distances. Only a major industrial power could accomplish that and the US is the best positioned power to do that. The states of the middle east and north Africa couldn't do more then create toe-holds and could easily be denied that if the US Navy blockaded them. Turkey's land connection would allow them to by pass this restriction though. Of course the political developments are so totally unpredictable that anything could happen from total cooperation to total anarchy.

Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

Eh? We can beat the **** out of Australia and Canada combined. If you give everyone 20 years to prepare, then yes, the larger populations and industrial base will win, but in a quick shooting war at the present they stand no chance.
