  • Obama trying to piss the Clintons off?

The Politico is reporting that Clinton wasn't vetted for Obama's VP slot. I would have at least expected Obama's folks to go through the motions of the process to soothe Clinton's ego.

What does Obama gain by pissing the Clintons off? They're still powerful in the party and could have helped him a good bit in the general election.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

He's a dumbass, what did you expect? As you say, show at least some consideration, no matter if it's false.
He's managed to do it on all else.

It's an anonymous "Democratic official" cited in a rumor-mongering publication involving the Veepstakes. Uh yeah, not sure that's reliable.

If he ends up picking Kathleen Sebelius as his VP i know one thing... Clinton supporters will destroy Obama's run for President. Selecting another woman for VP would be a complete smack in the face to the Clintons. Joe Biden even though he is a bit too Fing crazy to ever be a president, is his best choice. He is the most qualified he is a powerful speaker & not afraid to attack. He is the Democrats version of McCain. Biden is the only person on his reported short list that could make a serious difference in the way America views Obama's campaign.

Doesn't he plagiarise Neil Kinnock's speeches?

I hope McCain goes with the LIEB, since it will piss off the far right, and maybe attract some of the undecided dems that aren't bedazzeled by "THE ONE"

My understanding is early on she was told she won't be the VP candidate.

She may have said she won't be the VP candidate herself...

Hillary is so self serving that I bet she spends 4 years trying to rip Obama down (assuming he gets elected) so she can run again in '12.
