Ctp was a way better game than Civ2/ToT and even Civ3. It wasnt until Civilization 4 did Firaxis make something that was actually better than the Activision Spin off. It was light years ahead of its time.
But whatever. I remember playing CTP on activision servers and PBEM in early 1999 with 8 people in all out carnage. Why the purists shunned it is beyond me.
CTP interface was way better and not to mention sid meier stole several Ideas from it for Civ III/IV.
I still think Civ2 was a stupid game. Nothing like having spearmen kill your tanks or losing 30 units cause there on the same tile

ctp2 was incomplete (it might have become a decent game, I don't know)
