Word. The games shouldn't have been awarded to propaganda-whoring China, but they're being held now, so nothing much to do about it. Grin an bear it I suppose"An archaeologist is the best husband a women can have; the older she gets, the more interested he is in her." - Agatha Christie

It's French. Get over it, Mr Pelosi.Originally posted by Wiglaf
Cliche is not french you buffoon. Columbus popularized the word after he came from Britain and discovered the Galapagos. One of his ships in his entourage was the Nina and the other was the clichet and the other was the marriet (it rhymes, easy to remember). The Clichet was overweight and sank like everyone expected it to. He sighed and told the male bondsman (not what it sounds like, back then people knew where to put the schlong) that it was such a Cliche that the Clichet sank. No one on the ship had heard of the big word and it caught on. Maybe it's a french word in origin but it's British owned, and while I have no respect for the British at least they do what they are told. I am going to go get drunk now so don't bother calling me a nerd, I study hard and party hard.

The Chinese don't care so much about being embarrassed. They want their own people to be impressed with all the propaganda and be good little proles.
"See? Look how much better the air is now."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, it is much better. Our reports say so."
"Oh, good. We will return to our miserable work for very little pay and the promise of a better China for our descendants."

Meh... a rapidly industrializing state has horrible air pollution. What a shock!“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
