Colombo, McCloud, Kojak, Sam's bar, Friends, The King of Queens, NYPD Blue, CIS , Criminal minds .... The list is endless. There are lots of small countries in europe and while there are lots of local productions, but the cost to cover the full sending time would be high and the actors would be Tordenskiolds Soldiers. It's cheaper to buy massproduced american series.

I loved MwC, and still do, although I haven't seen it in ages. The German name for it translates "An awfully nice family", btw (Eine schrecklich nette Familie). The original name would sound weird in German.

No you wouldn't - only the evil germans are resyncronizing foreign language films - I once saw a Marx Bros with german speak - I zapped away after 10 mins. I do understand german, but spoken at the speed needed for MB was simply insane.
