Disappointing but less disappointing than Pavorati and his orchestra mining their performance.

Well, China has no record of press freedom. It's even stated in the Constitution that the press and media serve the people, but they do so by serving the government (who allegedly serve the people directly).
So to a Western viewpoint, it's deceptive and rightly so, given the West's robust tradition of a free fourth estate. But to the Chinese it's not a big deal."lol internet" ~ AAHZ

"This is really the number one scandal of the Olympics and it will certainly shock the entire the world," said one outraged netizen with the name of Hu Zibo, on webforum tieba.Baidu.com this morning.
"The truth is this: It's just so sick," Hu wrote.
Chinese bloggers and commentators blamed organizers for manipulating the girls.
One blogger on China's Sina.com, Jiang Jiang, angrily wrote, "It's unfair that these two little girls should have to pay for adults' stupidity.""The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I feel sorry for London. The won't have anywhere near the money for a show to equal what China did. No matter how good they do, it's going to appear second or third class.
Hopefully If Chicago gets 2016 that the comparison will be more to what London did, and not China. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

As read on wiki:
Psychological study
In 1995, a study was carried out by social psychologists Victoria Medvec, Scott Madey and Thomas Gilovich on the effects of counterfactual thinking on the Olympics. The study showed that athletes who won the bronze medal were significantly happier with their winning than those athletes who won the silver medal. The silver medalists were more frustrated because they had missed the gold medal, while the bronze medalists were simply happy to have received any honors at all (instead of a fourth place) [1]. This is more pronounced in knockout competitions, such as the FIFA World Cup, where the bronze medals are achieved by winning a playoff, whereas silver medals are awarded after a defeat in the final.bleh

I don't understand why they made the switch on the young girls. It's weird.
I thought the actual singer was plenty cute enough.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
