  • Learn English at...Apolyton

I broke the code for accessing Apolyton at work by doing a search on "Apolyton Forums", then clicking the link.
Look at what came up on the Search. Going by this, it would seem a lot of the world may be learning words like "bastard" and "jackass", if I'm doing my part.

This is where I learned English also. Before Apolyton, all I knew was ebonics.

I've learned a lot from SlowwHand. Watch this:

It's amazing how people learn English. My translator in Kosovo learned English by watching American TV shows.

Victor Borge learned the language by going to American movie theaters during WWII. He didn't know a word of English when he arrived in 1940. 15 years later he was the highest paid TV performer in the world.

                      I knew it.

You should've retired by now, Asher. You haven't made an original post in years.

I'm asking who it is because I've no idea who he is.

From reading his wikipedia, he is the most important Dane ever but completely inconsequential and unimportant to the US. It's funny that you idolize him so. Fitting, perhaps.

He was the funniest man I ever saw, and a highly accomplished pianist, world class entertainer and a great promotor of popular knowledge of Denmark and Scandinavia to his new adopted country.

If you hadn't heard of him, it's a sad statement of your lack of common knowledge of the era you're living in.

Many, many people I chatted with in the U.S. mentioned him instantly upon learning I was Danish.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting how he learned the language..

I loved his Adventures of Don Two ["two" instead of "juan" because of inflation].

How the **** would he be in any way related to the era I live in?

****, Winston, you are thick. To say this guy was before my time is an understatement. You need to learn to think about your audience, and understand not everyone is into all the same kinky **** you are.
