LARRY KING, HOST: That "New Yorker" cover which depicts you and your wife, and you dressed in a Muslim outfit, your wife in a kind of military outfit, Osama bin Laden's picture burning, what do you make of that?
The flag is burning.

Jon Stewart had a hilarious reaction to this. Seeing Obama's response was that it was "tasteless and offensive", Stewart said Obama's response should have been, "I don't find the cartoon depicting me as a Muslim extremist as offensive, because you know who gets offended by cartoons? Muslim extremists."

Seeing how much press this is getting, it occurs to me that it's great for Obama -- not just because it gets him some sympathy, but because (1) it gives Obama a chance to address all those inane rumors without bringing them up himself, and (2) any time any of those rumors come up from now on, the general reaction is going to be "not this bull**** again!" I don't think the New Yorker intended to give him this kind of gift, but he definitely scores."I have as much authority as the pope. I just don't have as many people who believe it." — George Carlin

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go.
