Kuci was wrong and I pointed it out, just as others have argued against the errors of others. I'll agree that I was a bit too hostile, but it's a sensitive subject afterall.

No, Kuci stated that blacks are more racist than whites. He just used the Obama votes to justify that conclusion.

...the operative words being "because he's Black." Yes, it is a statistical fact that blacks overwhelmingly voted for the guy. However, there could be more than one reason that this is so. Kuci of all people should know that correlation is not causation.

Maybe they were just convinced that he would be more attentive to the issues most salient in their everyday lives than Clinton would be, and voted based on that. Surely you wouldn't call that rationale "racist" by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm very well aware of that. That's why I was fairly careful to define the parameters of my assumptions. Obviously a perfectly controlled experiment is impossible, but the primary was the best approximation we'll ever get, and a fantastic opportunity to get hard data on the subject.

By the same token, if a white person voted for Hillary because they believed Obama would focus more on black issues than white issues*, that wouldn't be racist either.

* not my position - it's something I observed in an interview of some random hicks in WV. The way the statement was framed implied that the filmers, at least, found the attitude racist - and I believe it largely is.
