People on the internet tend to be star wars geeks whose love for the other movies (which are also terrible, but not as terrible) cloud their judgement.

It was a brutal movie. Think of it as a standalone movie, and I'm sure you'd walk out.

The central plot feature of III is Anakin's turn to the Dark Side, and it was done so poorly as to be laughable. I like SW, ok? I wanted to like the prequels, but they were so awful as to be unlikeable. I didn't see III with high expectations - quite the opposite. I'd given up on the prequels by that point. I saw it b/c a friend of mine (huge SW fan) gave it to me on DVD. It was terrible, and my "preconceived bias" had nothing to do with it.

Apparently it was since you are in the small minority . Losing respect for RT reviewers because they went the other way, I guess also means losing respect for most IMDB viewers as well.

The idea that the man needs help strengthening his patriotic convictions from WallE when he served for years in a war is one thing. The idea that the man who refused special treatment and release to stay with his men BECAUSE HE DID NOT WANT TO GIVE THE VIETCONG A MORALE VICTORY also speaks to his ****ing patriotism. By staying behind he strengthened his companion soldiers and refused to give the enemy the positive public relations.

CANADA HAS NO NATIONAL ANTHEM FOR A REASON, it is because they all play hockey and jerk it at the rinkside twinkside instead of getting anything done.

Dude, this is a matter of taste. And we're talking movies, so "everyone who liked that movie is a bloody moron" is par for the course.

Appeals to ratings on movie websites are not going to move me. My opinion is my own. That a horde of people though it was a good movie matters not at all - the movie sucked and I have sound reasons for thinking so. YMMV, and clearly does. Moron.
