Politics used to be the main reason I came here since most other political sites seemed to be all from one side or the other where as poly used to have a good cross section.

And because you look at things that way, you will do whatever it takes to support your side of the argument, from presenting information that may not be reliable, to insulting other posters, and to making a crapload of threads about the same thing.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you. I believe I actually do listen and understand other people's positions even if I don't agree with them and even disagree strongly. Please ignore me if you'd like as that would be better then you always following me around posting personal attacks. Surely you can do that?

Lets assume that Imran's list is correct, which I don't but, for the sake of argument. That would be 5 out of 14 or .35... Just over 1 in 3. Please recognize that even the worst case scenario has 2/3rds of my threads not being political.

You do not listen. You do not try to understand other arguments.

Your argue until you get backed into a corner of being obviously wrong (see the "world's largest oil reserve" thread). Then when you see no way out, you pretend like it was all one, big, comical troll thread and LOL LOOK HOW WELL IT WORKED. It's a joke, that.

This is why I think you're sticking to op-ed stuff. Even stuff most people here would agree with you on (Bush sucks, etc). But you do it in such a hilariously inept manner that even people who would agree with you are put off by the threads.

*shrug* I didn't find it particularly likely you'd agree with me.

Certainly. For one reason or another your posts have been bothering me lately, but that's my problem to deal with and not yours.

The threads that are not political are either "LOOK AT ME" threads (eg, "I AM GOING TO MANHATTAN IN A FEW MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!") or dupe threads where someone more topical already beat you to it (the MOBIUS Egghead thing) or simply outrageously misleading "joke" threads without the humour.

I say you're a tabloid political poster because all of your other threads are even more worthless than the tabloid ones.

Asher you do realize that in the oil field thread we were talking about different metrics, right? I was talking about 1 oil field and you kept talking about all the oil fields in Alberta. Two totally different animals. I gave up on that thread because it was obvious we weren't going to get any where.

I posted that thread for the same reason I often post many of my travel threads on several forums. I often meet up with other posters and end up having a great time. If that is a look at me thread then oh well.

It's wrong no matter what metric you use.

The Athabasca Oil Sands in Alberta is a far larger oil field, if that's what you want to pretend you were claiming it's still wrong. Your subject also clearly mentioned Alberta, so if you were talking about individual fields and not provincial/state reserves, then I guess your thread title was...misleading?

See? Here's an example. You don't listen, you just squirm.

Oh yes! The ****ing "It's a troll" crap is sooo damned see through and annoying and only comes when Oerdin's been whipped thoroughly and feels like he can't insult or tangent himself out of it.

People who agree with him can't stand his method of "debate" either and are thus put off.

The "with me or against me" style of arguing is one that very few people like. He's like a left wing version of O'Reilly.

Damn, I had no idea my one comment in Hueij's thread would set this chain off this chain reaction.

The only time I can think of when I did that was the 48" pizza thread which obviously was a joke and more then a year plus ago. I can't recall a single other time I've ever done that.

I'm sorry, but that was seven months ago.
