As to the OP, I don't find bigoted jokes bigoted because they can usually be viewed more as satirical of the bigoted mindset than of the "victim" group. To that extent they're anti-bigot.

Two reasons why it's so hard to solve a Texan murder:
1. All the DNA is the same.
2. There are no dental records.

Three guys, a Nebraskan, a Texan and a Coloradan are out walking together one day. They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it.
"I will give you each one wish," says the Genie.
The Nebraskan says, "I am a farmer, my dad was a farmer, and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Nebraska."
With a blink of the Genie's eye, 'FOOM' the land in Nebraska was forever made fertile for farming.
The Texan was amazed, so he said, "I want a wall around Texas, so that no foreigners can come into our precious state."
Again, with a blink of the Genie's eye, 'POOF' there was a huge wall around Texas.
The Coloradan asks, "I'm very curious. Please tell me more about this wall."
The Genie explains, "Well, they're about 150 feet high, 50 feet thick and completely surrounds the state. Nothing can get in or out."
The Coloradan says, "Fill them up with water."

I have mixed feeling on stereotype driven jokes.
IT all comes down to how they're told. And this is quite the gray area. The intent of the teller. Don Rickles was a perfect example. He insulted everyone and it was never done with malice. He was so good at it that people would almost fight to get into the front row of his shows so he would pick on them. Rickles also made more than enough fun of himself, which really emphasised his intent. "TO BE FUNNY"
But when they're used with the intent to injure and insult a specific group out of hate, that I don't like.
Sometimes you can't always tell so where do you draw the line? It's safest to just say never do it, but Rickles was so funny I'd hate to totally eliminate it.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Good folks of Poly:
I shall state my case and then anyone can draw any/all comments, judgements but remember, I am telling the intent of my heart and the intentions of starting and continuing my Clint Eastwood thread:
1-I thought about simply stating in minimal-laced descriptive language my points.
2-Then I considered about invoking responses to hear many voices and many opinions, for that is what they are, when you boil down the "I am correct and your not" implications.
3-I chose to word such so that people would stop and take notice. This indeed was accomplished.
My whole desire and point, was to show how what some consider offensive others merely brush off as "tasteless" or inappropriate, some considered it bigoted, with roots to unacceptable social standards. Some simply shrugged it off.
Ok, here I am Bruce K. Cronkite, Grandpa Troll to many, offering that this was merely an excercise in showing many others how we all should be sensitive to those around us.
I did use the term "Joking" but perhaps the better word should have been trolling for responses. This I did pull off.
I did say some were pompous, not as in insult but as a matter that if something is offensive to one, should it not be stated?
If a joke about the Jewish faith and peoples horriffic past is offensive, then why should it be tolerated anymore than a person having some fun at another race or people group.
Both are wrong.
For the record, i do not hate anyone. It was told in a post i was a gentler and kinder soul, yes and still am, just sometimes on these meds, i do speak with less restraint. Less restraint more "ummph"
Ok, please accept my apolgy for any unintended offense in last couple days.
Now, I can just about here the keyboards clicking away in respons ethat my being honest now wont make it.
Is it honest or dishonest for a man to say everything perfectly, politically and socially acceptable but in their heart feel differently?
I am not apologizing for the remarks because they were sincere and hide behind my medicines, no that would be wrong.
I am saying I am sorry people were offended when the intent was to strike up a conversation and get feedback.
I dod smile a little over some responses yesterday, when i am supposed to be gentle (and I really should be) and those that condemned, a few took a small snip or two at me, such is the judgement of man, "be nice or I'll kick yer @r$e"
Ok
be well, I am sincere in this post and hope all can see through my explanation
FOR CORT HAUS: It was poor humor and an attempt at showing folks the variety of acceptance.
