yeah it hailed in the south shore of Montreal, one of my friends said that his car was entirely damaged by the hail (of the size of a golf ball)

(i have to say that near Mt St Hillaire, there is a micro climate)

I guess it was depending on the neighborhood, cuz we got none.

I was in the second from the left lane. There was a semi on my right I was slowly passing (he was going slower than me), then out of nowhere a semi passed me in the FAR LEFT LANE.

It was even more dangerous than normal because I was dealing with torrential rain AND the intense spray from a semi on my right AND the intense spray from a semi on my left. I couldn't see anything at all.

If I could SEE the plates of this ****er I'd have written them down, had I not been having my hands full keeping myself from crashing.

It was intensely irresponsible. Not only was he going ABOVE the speed limit, he was doing it in BRUTAL conditions with very little visibility and causing real danger to other cars on the road.

Depending where this was, he probably should not have been out there. The key point however is that the offence is being in the lane, it wouldn't matter if he passed you or not.

SE Michigan was hit Sunday evening. I was without power for about 10 hrs. I couldn't report the outage on the phone, kept getting "Your call cannot be completed as dialed," probably too many people calling in. I actually went into work and reported it online.

Our area wasn't too bad off - I didn't see anything like trees uprooted, or big branches on the ground, like I've been reading about. To the east and northeast of my location was much worse. The paper reported 200K without power.

Yeah, I understand the offense is being in the lane. I don't care why he was there, I'm just describing what he was doing. Obviously he was late for something, but it was incredibly dangerous and reckless.

                        White knuckles.
To top it all off when I got to the safety of my parking garage I looked over and saw my new windshield wasn't fully sealed -- it was leaking in the top corner of the passenger side.

Why did I need a new windshield?

A month ago I was driving the Milton - Guelph stretch of torn up road (which HAS been ****ed up for months) when a massive rock got kicked up and caused a foot long (and growing) crack in my windshield. I reckon it was a 1" wide chunk of asphalt (judging by the size of the impact crater) kicked up by a ******** in a SUV without mudflaps passing me ON THE RIGHT whilst I was in the middle lane.

A $300 kick in the nuts, it was.

So around 5:30 pm the day I posted this thread, I lost TV and internet. It only came back at noon today while I was at work.

The rest of my street still doesn't have power though, so I count myself lucky.
