A leak of coolant has prompted Slovenia to shut down the reactor at its only nuclear power plant.

The European Commission says there has been no discharge into the environment. No explosion was reported either.

The Commission alerted all 27 EU member states under its Ecurie early warning system for nuclear emergencies.

A safe shutdown is in progress at the Krsko plant, which has a US-made pressurised water reactor. It supplies energy to Slovenia and Croatia.

"There is no influence on the environment and we do not expect any," said Slovenia's nuclear safety chief Andrej Stritar, quoted by Reuters news agency.

This is just sensationalist reporting by the BBC, a comparable incident in a French or German powerplant would have no mention at all.


I do admit some of the bits of the reactor is a poorly designed (US nuclear technology ) but its completley safe and the coolant leak is non-news. In fact poly is the first place I heard of this. I've tried to google the incident on Slovenian language sites but it dosen't show up on the first page.

Yes, what appears to be a simple Nuclear Power plant is in fact only the power rector of our underground chemical weapons plant, complete with an underground military base where we have been stockpiling surplus Soviet military equipment. We have in the past 10 years acquired 2 million Hazmat suits, if it was not for our archenemies restricting the sales of said suits we could have completed our plan in 2005.

Anyone who is part of the Iluminati can tell you that the Cold War wasn't about USA vs. USSR but it was really about Slovenia vs. Swizerland. What most people call the cold war, was just a proxy war. We admit we where concerned by the Swiss earthquake device and the "CERN" thingy they where building, but in the end we beat them and have developed the ultimate superweapon.

Get over yourself, the Swiss lost the cold war, that is the only reason the USA is a country of any importance today.
