I didn't want to hijack the Guantanamo thread, so I thought I'd say it here: Could you guys look into unbanning the word ***, as in a Harvard magna *** laude? It's fairly ridiculous to have an academic term banned, and I don't think the word *** in the sexual sense appears all that much in any postings here that wouldn't be deleted either how. Reminds me of back when the words cockpit or cocktail were banned because they included '****'.

(Edit: A word which is seemingly still banned when written by itself, but I suppose you could always say 'rooster' instead in those many discussions about poultry that go on around here.)

Hey, the example I gave was literally what was going on. Somebody mentioned the academic title of magna *** laude.

That's one of the reasons that restriction ought to be lifted, so you don't get 'OMG he said ***' comments to an otherwise serious post. Well, I suppose they could still occur, but they'd be somewhat less likely since you don't have an automatic censorship machine explicitly pointing out you said a no-no word.

I'm a frequent threadjacker myself, but at least I try to help it...

Look guys, I'll happily admit I'm paying too much attention to something quite trivial. I'll try to get other hobbies soon. But right now I have to say the ban on saying magna *** laude just proved itself even more weird when it turned out the word 'bull****' is not censored.
