I am terrible for oganization, but the plastic totes are amazing. I have most of my books in them + a lot of my other stuff, it helps out so much (although my room is still a mess).

GENERATION 35: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
I haven't played D&D in years, but I had fun when I did. If you must play a paladin, which is not a good move for a rookie, than just pretend like you are a boy scout. I enjoy giving any Good character a few quirks so that you can at least have something to play with. If he has a low INT than play him like the Tick, that should be fun.
The more the game changes, the more I like the 1st edition rules.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
2nd was better, but 1st has got a nostalgia thing going for it.

I moved a couple months ago. being a little bit of a stickler for organization, I bought an obscene number of plastic totes. packed 'em and labelled 'em (all four sides and the top). While this made moving in super easy, it also allowed the movers to discover the tote labelled "D&D". I see one of them carrying it out -- he says nothing.
So, it's a hot day. An hour later, I'm pitching in and saving myself some dough by helping them load the truck. I come stumbing out of the house lugging a mattress. The smart-guy, eighteen year old stoner mover, goes, "Dude, you must be like some kind of Warlock to carry that mattress all by yourself -- what are you, like level 18?" My girlfriend nearly died laughing.
So did you reply, "Dude, if I were a warlock, I'd have summoned a fiendish servant to do my bidding."?

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

QFT. 1st had way to many books some with conflicting rules while 3rd seemed like munchkin land. 2nd was actually fairly well balanced when it came out. They need to come out with a new video game as that's really the only D&D I've played in the last 14-15 years.
As a human paladin, you may want to either take the action surge, which gives you a nice boost, or the hardiness(?) one that gives you extra healing surges--seeing as, as a paladin, when you heal others you spend your surges, not theirs.
