Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

The gays are probably no more than .05% of holocaust dead. There were probably more holocaust dead who were mistaken for Jews and weren't in any of the Nazis targeted groups.

Between 1933-45, more than 100,000 men were registered by police as homosexuals ("Rosa Listen"), and of these, some 50,000 were officially sentenced. Most of these men spent time in regular prisons, and an estimated 5,000 to 15,000 of the total sentenced were incarcerated in concentration camps. It is unclear how many of these 5,000 to 15,000 eventually perished in the concentration camps.

This is very little compared to the gypsies:

During World War II, the Nazis murdered 500,000 to 800,000 Roma in an attempted genocide referred to as the Porajmos. Like the Jews, they were sentenced to forced labour and imprisonment in concentration camps. They were often killed on sight, especially by the Einsatzgruppen on the Eastern Front.

            You also had the:

            80,000–200,000 Freemasons
            1.8-2 million Poles
            2–3 million Russian POW
            100,000 - 500,000 Serbs

So as you can see Hilters crimes go far beyond just killing Jews, but yes persecution of homosexuals was minor compared to that.

Fifty years after the war, under the Große Planung, Generalplan Ost foresaw the eventual expulsion and extermination of more than 50 million Slavs beyond the Ural Mountains.

BTW Wow, I suppose that is one calls ambition.

I do seem to recall, that I was rather puzzled, when, some time ago, my school gave an information leaflet on the Holocaust memorial day, which urged us to never forget the 6 million jews killed in the concentration camps, end of sentence. No mention of anyone else.

It's not the numbers. It's that the Nazi's killed everyone who wasn't what his warped vision was dreaming up.
I think an interesting point is how many of thte upper echelon committed suicide.
As far as I know, Albert Speer was the only one to feel remorse and apologize for his part.

I guess Germany could pay us a little of that Holocaust money. Why should all of it go to Jews?

Poor Mr. Fun. Two threads now about gays being ignored except they weren't ignored in either case.

I think the memorial is fine; but like I asked earlier, why the separations?

I think the German state should pay reparations to all the descendants of persecuted gay people.

                            That memorial looks, well, gay

Seriously, people have no idea how to properly build memorials/monuments these days. Wow, you designed a gray cube with a TV screen, that must have taken you years to accomplish

The article alludes to some manner of kiss, and how it is critical to the monument, and how most people wouldn't like it. I don't suppose that they'd put something like that on the ordinary holocaust memorial.
