Although back in typewriting class, there was one electronic typewriter and the rest were manual typewriters. Somehow I ended up with the electronic one, and the teacher was surprised to see how well I typed. I don't think she realised my one had a backspace key...
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
Yup, both - especially the typewriter was a great improvement to the ink/feather.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

I type my Poly posts on typewriter and fax them to India where I pay my relatives low wages to type them out again and post them here.
Yes, it's true, cousin Shiva pays us to do this. We are grateful.

I have used both - and a "partyline".
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
party line otherwise known as three way call on ur phone to connect to others on three way call, back in the 80s had that. Um what type of type writer maunal or the electric used both in school. Rotary phone reminds me of that skit from lethal weapon with chris rock funny as **** seen one never used it

Along a similiar line, did anyone here have a party-line on their phone?
We did back in the 1960's, IIRC, out in the country.
We didn't, but I had several Aunts and Uncles who lived in a rural area that did.
It was always strange to pick the phone up and hear others talking. Sometimes my Aunt would pick it up and listen for a second and jump right in!

Manual and electric typewriter (what an upgrade that was )
And yes, a rotary phone.

We still use typerwriters for things like Treasury Checks and official forms, there really is no other way to do it.
