The radio station I was listening to this morning had, at one point, the sound of a typewriting to provide background ambiance. I began wonder if our younger posters had ever even used a typewriter. How about a rotary dial telehone?

I've used both I like type writers, but the rotary telephone should be consigned to the past...

I've only used a rotary dial phone. I have fiddled with an ancient typewriter we had back home, but that was just playing around..

I used a typewriter once or twice but got confused when I couldn't find the spellcheck button.

I owned a touch phone that was made to look like a rotary...
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
