If you read my OP, our local Gay Pride festival does not start until June 28, either.

Basically we want to make sure that people who join the organization understand what we are about. People with particular beliefs, such as white supremacy, or support for the Democratic Party, etc. cannot join (though they might be registered voters of the party). Members of "democratic centralist" organizations, i.e., organization that can give their members orders, also cannot join the party.

Keep in mind we are are a revolutionary organization.

Did you know that the first gay organization in the U.S. was started by a communist, and that following the Bolshevik revolution in Russia, homosexuality was decriminalized. I believe they were the first modern country to do so. We were also the first party to run an openly gay person for President. Half the leadership in the Socialist Party of Florida is gay.
