I have received only one PM in the past 30 days. During that time I also cleaned out the Inbox and the Sent Box. I'm not sure why it still registers as full. I may ask a mod... but not by PM obviously.

For now though send stuff to the email I posted. If I can find it amidst all the Viagra and boob job spam I get, I may even respond.

This reminds me of the first exposure I had with Dvorak actually. I was about 6 and playing a game on an Apple IIc, but the letters came out wrong. I was facing the Sphinx at the Plains of Panope, and I had to type "Man" in response to her famous question. The words came out as MAB instead because the Dvorak key was depressed.

Then the Sphinx attacked me and I died.

Unfortunately, I used it my first day with Dvorak. By the time I wanted to do speed drills, more than 10 days had past.

But, if you already know the process of touch typing, there's really no reason to need tutors. That is, instruction essentially tells you to "type the 'P' by holding down the right shift key with your right pinky and hit the 'p' with your left index finger." We already know that. *shrug*

Up to 60 wpm now, a full three months after starting.

BUT it is much easier to type, so that's something.

How do you switch keyboard layout to Dvorak? I don't see any option under Control Panel -> Keyboard or anything.

You say "Dvorak" three times and tap your heels together.

It's a keyboard language.

In XP, you go to Regional and Language Options, then Language tab, then Details (under Text Services), then Add... English(United States), Keyboard Layout: United States-Dvorak. (Use something else if you want funny belgian keys, they may well have a dvorak layout also).

Then you'll have a little bar somewhere (usually on the taskbar) that lets you switch between the two. Also you can set it to have a key combination to switch (like ctrl+shift, for me).

You also can set which language comes up by default (and by default, I mean both when you boot to windows, and what each individual program expects when it is started - each program can have a different setting here, and it defaults to your default until/unless you change it.)

Dvorak also does not work in DOSBox.

Dosbox uses its own keycode mapping. Press Ctrl-F1 to customise it. (the interface is a tiny little bit strange, though)
