I don't even get why McCain goes on that show. It's not as if his ratings are that high in comparison to other political shows or that the audience is at all inclined to vote for him. It makes as much sense as going on Olberman.

The last thing a veteran wants to see is sending young men to battle. It's the same old thing, having a frame of reference.
A president deals with foreign policy mostly. Can you see my point?
As far as Bush goes, I might have done things differently, but the one thing I don't have that he does is information. Who knows what information he'been given? How he processes the information is the only question, but you just don't know.
It's been 25 years since Kennedy was shot and still their are the opinions about it.
If you don't have all the facts, all you have is theory. If all you have is theeory, it's just opinion, and you what they say about and compare opinions to. Everyone has one.
So you would even vote for a veteran that was a collaborator?

Maybe he feels he can be himself on it.

Yeah, that's the only place where we differ. I don't give a rat's ass how "comforted" Joe Schlub feels; I just care about what substantive terms ultimately are set in stone by written or even unwritten agreements. That's what really makes the difference at the end of the day, at least in my view.

You know what? When Bill Clinton ran the first time, I was thrilled to vote for him. First time I'd been thrilled about any candidate. Today, NAFTA and Monica & Co. is all I can remember about him. Well, that and the Somalia debacle, which was his only retaliation against terrorism on the rise.
I don't see myself being thrilled about a candidate again.

While it's true that McCain isn't doing great with the "youth" vote, you shouldn't also imply that DS fans are all that left-wing. In my experience the people that enjoy that type of humor are more cynical than anything else, and that knows no party.

My grandfather was a POW. He's 87 and is far less doddery than McCain.

Is that your opinion of an unbiased writing?
Sit in your apartment, house or hole for just 1 month without leaving. Nothing else, just stay there. No one bothers you. No tv or pc or radio, but WTF?
Do it one month, under those generous terms.

Do you think being a weak leader is not an important issue? I sure as hell do. McCain has shown on these shows that he's not a strong leader.
I don't really care if he didn't have his A game out during an inconsequential and none serious (why do people continually pretend it is anything but a tongue in cheek comedy show?) on a Daily Show interview, I care that he had it out during hundreds of North Vietnamese torture sessions err interviews.

Biased yes, but what of the story? If it's true then that puts the boot to his whole POW schtick.

I don't follow you on the stay in my house for a month thing.

The question is whether he has it anymore. When you're running for president, how you appear on any show is important. McCain was put to task, tried to defend himself, and failed. Also, in a candid setting he showed a general passiveness in character. If you can't see the value in that, you don't belong in this discussion.

Prisoner of home vs. Prisoner of War.
As far as your prior question, "if" is a huge word.

No, its not. The Daily Show is a non serious inconsiquetial comedy venue, you should tailor your style/attitude (not you message) to the circumstances.

McCain was put to task, tried to defend himself, and failed.
                            In your head maybe.

Also, in a candid setting he showed a general passiveness in character.
In a laid back none serious setting I am laid back too. That is not how I am when ording ratings and junior officers around, and then I am only not laid back when I have to be.

If you can't see the value in that, you don't belong in this discussion.

Did you see that? Before I was having a serious and laid back discussion with you. Now that you are being an ass, I have transitioned into sarcastic and condesending.

Typical conservative. They just see one side, the side they want to see. Reality be damned. I'll stick with the truth and continue to share it with those who can appreciate honesty and excellence.
