I think it is pretty sad that Jon Stewart provides the best political content.

That's not what I'm saying. You can be wrong and still show strength and conviction. McCain did not do that. And when it comes to the negotiating table for America's interests, I don't want someone who will fold on the first bet.

If him and Colbert were a ticket you bet your ass they'd have my vote.

I could understand that. Sometimes they seem like the only ones paying attention.

Meh, I just don't see it. I can see how his occasionally quavering voice might seem timid, but it could just as easily be an irrelevant neurological quirk, or even something ingrained from his Nam experiences despite what he actually thinks. Aside from the voice problem his overall posture, mannerisms, eye contact, etc. were fairly normal.

Besides, all that really matters to me is whether he backed down substantively on an issue, and I don't see any examples of that in either video.

Well, as Obama has just said recently, McCain is losing his bearings.

That he did at all is the problem. Jon Stewart is child's play compared to the presidency. If he can't hold his own there, he shouldn't be representing the most powerful country in the world.

Is Dashi ready to vote for a President?

Considering he is basing his judgement of candidates on comedy show apperances, I would have to say no

Could be. I know many vets who weren't POW's and emotion is near the surface. Passion.
People call him a Bush extension, I call bull****. The man knows what it's like to give his service. If there's a veteran of the military running, they generally get my vote. The last thing a veteran wants to see is sending young men to battle. It's the same old thing, having a frame of reference.
A president deals with foreign policy mostly. Can you see my point?
As far as Bush goes, I might have done things differently, but the one thing I don't have that he does is information. Who knows what information he'been given? How he processes the information is the only question, but you just don't know.
It's been 25 years since Kennedy was shot and still their are the opinions about it.
If you don't have all the facts, all you have is theory. If all you have is theeory, it's just opinion, and you what they say about and compare opinions to. Everyone has one.

                          And they usually stink.

If you agree he didn't substantively surrender on anything, why would he do so at the proverbial bargaining table? Just being "put on the defensive" isn't "giving up" anything; it's merely a product of how aggressive the opponent chooses to be.

Do you think being a weak leader is not an important issue? I sure as hell do. McCain has shown on these shows that he's not a strong leader.

Substantively is the key word. That may be enough for you. But when you're facing off against people who are the anti-thesis for what you stand for. Words like substantive aren't going to comfort American citizens.
