I never pretended I work in the computer gaming industry. What I probably have said is that I make games as a HOBBY. I do it on my own time, for fun, and I like the challenge, hence why I am enjoying the Sandbox 2 Editor. In the past I used other editors such as AGS (Adventure Game Studio), and prior to that I attempted to make games using the older language used for Leisure Suit Larry 1, 2 and 3. (SCI IIRC).
Later I tried to make a Civilization style game, and I went as far as creating over 5000 images.

Edit: And what do you mean you "designed" the application -- you're a graphic arts. Drawing the interface and designing applications are majorly different things.
I'm not just an artist, I am also the designer, I enjoy working out the mechanics of whatever game I am making as well, and I feel I am quite good at it, my mind is always pumping with ideas.
Currently that Civilization game is sitting on my computer rotting away, and I would love to return to it one day, but for now I am playing around with Sandbox 2; as I wish to re-create the old classic Moonstone game. And it is coming along very nicely, I have done quite a lot of work already on that. I'm not one to show my work until its finished, so you won't see it anywhere.
And I am am major supporter of people making their own games, people like Flavian who is making Quest for Earth and of course Al Lowe was also an "all-rounder" he created Leisure Suit Larry pretty much entirely by himself.
I think you insult a lot of people by claiming you "design" applications and games. You don't do anything but **** around with pre-made game editors. Then you see fit to critique game engines and claim you designed applications and games? Horse****.

Now it sounds like he drew some pictures for an interface for a hotel and he's claiming he "designed the application" when it's quite clear the application itself isn't designed or even implemented. This is a disconnect he's displayed before, he doesn't comprehend the difference in role between a graphics artist, computer programmer, and software architect.
Correct, I drew the interface, but I also designed it, and I am aware that these two are different from each other.
As for programming, I would rate my skills about 3/10, but I know if I put enough care into it, I can get it up to about 6/10. Which I'm gonna have to do if I wanna get this game done.

Christ Asher, will you get off your high horse? Do you really think that it's impossible that maybe I actually know how to design applications?
I have been building websites since I was 15, these days, when you build websites that have databases and all sorts of other controls that are needed, you tend to learn a lot about application design, whether it be online or offline.
As an artist, I also happen to know what are the important factors that go into the interface design, coupled with how the functionality should work and flow, to me, these come seamlessly together.
I've come across some quite powerful applications designed by very good programmers, but the design is ****, and by design I mean the functionality of it, the features, the functions, etc, not the ART. I just so happen to have two skills combined together, the design and the art. Can't accept it can you? Your brain is going into meltdown over the thought of it, right? It just doesn't add up does it? How can an ARTIST also be an APPLICATION DESIGNER? When Application designing should be a PROGRAMMERS FIELD.

For future reference: designing an interface != designing an application != designing a game

If you don't know how to program, you don't can't develop programs.
If you can't develop programs, you don't have the knowledge/experience to know what a good program looks like from a design-perspective.
If you don't know what it looks like, you can't do it.
You're not an application designer, you're an INTERFACE DESIGNER or GRAPHIC ARTIST. This is a massively different thing. You're pretty much guaranteed a big six figure salary if you're a software architect (APPLICATION DESIGNER), and you're virtually guaranteed food stamps if you're a graphic artist/INTERFACE DESIGNER.
I have been building websites since I was 15, these days, when you build websites that have databases and all sorts of other controls that are needed, you tend to learn a lot about application design, whether it be online or offline.
Building websites teaches solid application design? IN WHICH DIMENSION?
You're frickin insulting an entire field by pretending what you do is called APPLICATION DESIGN.
You are low on the totem pole as a GRAPHICS ARTIST. Stop re-naming your title to make yourself sound more important than you are. Your role is to generate assets. You may be good at designing interfaces, I've no idea, but that's not DESIGNING AN APPLICATION.
I've basically taken an entire university degree about software architecture and design and the fact that you think because you made a few WEBPAGES you can design APPLICATIONS is infuriating to me.
Hey, I can draw pictures of a bridge but I can't DESIGN A BRIDGE.
Figure it out, thanks.

I can draw a picture of you being raped by a sea otter, that makes me a DESTINY DESIGNER.
