    Okay, I'll repost the one I had up briefly a while ago.


    This film is, in a sense, an antecedent of Forrest Gump. It chronicles a man from his teen years to middle age, and is told in flashback by the character as an extremely old man. The same (very well known) actor plays the character at all ages. He encounters a number of historical figures, most notably General George Custer.

              I had to Google that. I have never seen or even heard of that movie. I think it's safe to say this thread is now waaaaaay beyond pups like me.

                          I watched it about five years ago for the first time. I thought it was great.

                          I will do my best to post a question before my 48 hour time limit expires yet again - I just have to think about it for a bit.
