I consider "Chick Flicks" to be sappy love stories with no action and no redeeming reason to watch other than, well, the sappy love story. Cocktail was much more fast-paced than a Chick Flick. It's a great compromise, in that guys can watch it without falling asleep but still can get the, erm, brownie points from the movie
