Can you touch type? And when did you learn?

I think it will be replaced once our keyboards will be fully programmable for and will allow each key to display any symbol you like. People will just notice they are faster if they use the Dvorak scheme and will start switching to it. And will get used to switching any keyboard they happen to use, to it.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

I doubt qwerty will be replaced in my lifetime. People are too attached to what they grow up with, and teach it to their kids
Dvorak shouldn't take you long to learn, if you know how to touchtype. It took me about a week, maybe, and then another week of messing up on qwerty (I forcibly switched back and forth regularly so I would be able to). What's really fun is screwing with people at work (My work computer uses dvorak). They start doing something on my computer and have no idea why it doesn't work...
(Except rah. I'd never do that to him. Never. )<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

My understanding is there is no testable difference between the two.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

I cannot touch type using all 10 digits, I usually use 4-6. Have never taken any course, though I sometimes want to.
My English typing is better than my Russian typing (MUDs do that to you): I type around 1.5 times faster and only occasionally have to glance at the keys.Graffiti in a public toilet

I was a real slow typist, and could never touch type (but did quite fast with the hunt and peck method). Than in graduate school I was introduced to MMOs. I quickly learned how to touch type and now can even type with my eyes closed... I never need to look at my hands at all. I have no clue if I am doing everything correctly... I did play typing games/etc, and never really learned from that.

I touch-type, typically about 80+/min with pretty good accuracy. Have tested higher, but I don't like the loss of accuracy when going for speed.
I elected to take typing in HS (around 1969-70). It was a class for future secretaries, and my parents and counselor both objected because it might mess with my GPA (it did). So I gave up a little in class rank (got a C), but still finished in the top 10% and gained a skill that proved really useful for typing papers in college.
