He's not into "politics as usual", DinoDoc! Didn't you get the memo?
You realize that Obama's fundraising base is both much broader (again, the average contribution was less than $100) and his lobbyist connections are nothing compared to McCain's, right?

Barack Obama often boasts he is "the only candidate who isn't taking a dime from Washington lobbyists,"
Thirty-one of the 38 are law firm partners, who typically receive a share of their firm's lobbying fees. At least six of them have some managerial authority over lobbyists.
"It makes no difference whether the person is a registered lobbyist or the partner of a registered lobbyist, if the person is raising money to get access or curry favor," said Michael Malbin, director of the Campaign Finance Institute, a non-partisan think tank.
But keep playing the "look over there at McCain" game (any of this remind anyone of Bush's "look at Prez Clinton" game?). We'll just try to find out which usual politics Obama isn't playing.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

That's a factually true statement. He does use a slightly higher ethical standard of dealing with lobbyist contributions than Clinton and McCain. I don't think this is a meaningful distinction, but politics is all about turning trivial distinctions into something important (see earmarks and McCain).
As for the comparison with McCain, it doesn't make sense to criticize only one Presidential candidate when his opponent is worse on the matter.

I honestly don't understand why Obama is making such twists about a "parallel public financing system" which is very similar to the traditional campaign finance system when his original statement was very clear. He'd take public finance if the Republican nominee did as well. McCain has broken the public finance laws so why the hand wringing?

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
He doesn't... Whether that's an important distinction is a seperate issue.
