Brits Spend 5 Pounds Each Day on Lunch

We buy stuff in supermarkets and cook ourselves. If we haven't time then heating soup which costs maybe $1.25 for a can is quicker. Then we have a thermos that keeps it warm. If I eat breakfast it's eggs and bacon with toast. Sometimes I'll do a sweet italian sausage instead of the bacon. So a dollar or less than $2 with the sausage. Maybe $6 a day if that for everything. So $6 x 365 vs 20 x 365. Don't have a calculator on me but if I didn't do this we wouldn't be able to be building a retirement home in the tropics. Sorry to cry up thrift, but I'm a strong believer in it. By defering the pleasure of going out to eat until we get to the Phils we are able to go out 5 times for what we spend for once here.

The can of soup that I eat is closer to $3.

Note that the 25$ a day is not eating out, btw. A cheaper meal at home option is beans + veggies. This is more like 3$ for 450C so under 20$ per day (still 15$). However, everything gets boring if you do it more then 5 times per week.

Actually my body doesn't retain salt, I have to eat extra. I crave salt and put tons of it.

I figure since I'm forced to be serious everywhere else in life why not use this forums as a chance to act like an annoying twit? I try to avoid debates and serious issues because its always the same. People hold the same issues and no amount of arguing is going to change anything.

That is much like why I'm serious on the forums, because the rest of my life is anything but... plus there's no chance any harm comes of an argument on the internet since no one ever even pays much attention to what's been said.
