I wouldn't spend over 3 euros and usually less than that.

      Holy crap, serious post ahead!

I've been doing student teaching and substituting at the high school level and as tempting as it is to shoot the bull with students, it would be a huge mistake (especially early on in the year) since it gives them ideas that you aren't serious about your job. If they perceive a teacher that way, they'll take advantage of him/her. I have to be serious.

£3.25 for 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, beans and toast at the cheapest cafe in Holborn.

Run by two Greek blokes, one supporting Chelsea, the other supporting Arsenal - the way it should be. My old local cafe in Camden was also run by two Greek blokes, one supporting Chelsea, the other supporting Arsenal.

Some of the other cafes charge four quid for a sodding baked potato. **** that for a game of soldiers. I'll stick to where the value is .

Sounds like me...except for the Atlanta part.

Sometimes I can blow $20 at a more fancy place for a birthday or going-away party , but that's just a few times a year.

30ish years ago I went to a greasy spoon every morning called Joe's Sip & Sup (spelled backwards Pis & Pus) and they had 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast and OJ for 99 cents.

£3.25 for that? I used to spend £1.25 for a sausage special from the chippy near where I worked. Large chips, small sausage, small fish (basically fish without the tail), buttered breadcake, and any one of beans, curry sauce or mushy peas. Northern prices

$0.30 or so cents worth of rice and beans, daily. Food is fuel, not a hobby.
                  Unbelievable!

Just had a grilled swiss cheese sandwich. Two slices of wheat bread, a slice and a quarter of Oregon's best Tillamook Swiss, excellent stuff, and two pads of butter.

I don't know what that came to...maybe 60 cents if that.

Exactly what it sounds like. They put raisins in it and some kind of very small vegetables, but they no longer have flavour due to being in the sauce for so long.

If by Potbelly you mean Portobellos or however it is spelt, I like that place, the staff sing while you wait.

My lunch used to be up to $8 (About $12 US?), now it is about 50 cents. Money saved, weight controlled, still satisfied, i'm happy with my new change.
