Great to see you back, Gramps. I think you're making the right medical decision (sucky though it is). Best of a bad lot.

Hope you can swing by here more often.

Permanently fused wrist >>>! unending pain barely masked by expensive medications

Go for the surgery and don't look back.
The cake is NOT a lie. It's so delicious and moist.

The Weighted Companion Cube is cheating on you, that slut.

As long as my Chicago Contingency of good men understand that another man from and land doesnt mean to be offensive

I hope one day in person to meet all of our northern central Poly Posters, even those whom I have offended inadvertently

But thank you for the kind words sir, I intend on being more active as my condition permits

But still, he might have a very small legal-bare-minimum policy that might cover only a small part of your expenses; this is especially likely given that he's a coke fiend. Did you ever get confirmation of what his insurer's maximum payout would be?
            Unbelievable!

He was operating his Dad's pickup and his Dad has insurance.

I know it will be a small settlement, not trying to get rich just after legal fees and medical expenses, it wont come close to covering what i have had to endure or my sweetie taking care of me

Good luck. That's a tough choice, but I would probably do what you're doing.

I might have missed this, but are you a lefty or a righty? It would be real tough to lose wrist action in the dominant hand, but still, the idea of permanent pain is not pleasant to consider....

My point being, if your damages are far in excess of the dad's insurance, you'd be free to recover from both the son and the dad personally for the remainder. It only depends on whether either has deep enough pockets, or if you're the kind of jellyfish that'd feel guilty for suing.

They have to cover emotional expenses too in many cases, which is where you can make the big bucks.

Yep, gotta love those "parasitic" damages. You'd be wise to get yourself a shrink and be prescribed something, anything, to show physical manifestation in case that's a weighty factor in your jurisdiction. For every dollar you spend on Zoloft you'll earn at least $1000 in jury sympathy!

This is why you give out your Mastercard, preferably a fraudulent one, and get out of there. They'll accept it and forget to get your information if you're lucky.

Whatever happened with that saga anyway? Hopefully the nefarious wench is dropping the soap for Bubba somewhere by now...

GT, have you looked into neuromodulation? I'm doing some work for a medical devices company right now, and they make implantable pulse generators for spinal cord stimulation to treat chronic pain. Unfortunately, few general practitioners know that it's a potential treatment option, and so they end up prescribing all sorts of drugs and surgeries instead

Neither the son nor the father has to have deep pockets. I assume their car was insured? Their rates will go sky high for eternity, but that's the reason for insurance.

I have seen a Neurologist, had nerve induction tests (I had a bad case of RSDS and had 13 spinal taps several years ago, and both the Neurologist and Orthopedic Surgeon both felt this was not RSDS or a nerve damage, but have tried multiple blocks by stimulation and nothing helped.

I am told because of the bone on bone, no cartilage and damaged bone from impact that I am kind of up against the wall.

Do you know Lordshiva, if this neuromodulation helps in bone-grinding away on bone?

I have had steroid treatment, impulse therapy and Tense units out the kazoo.

At night wrist cockups and hand splints to minimise movements, still to no avail.

Warming therapy and also have tried a hot wax therapy where your hand is coated in extremely hot wax and wrapped in sarann wrap.

Massage with Ultra Sound, no positive results.

I am down to like minimum motion either way on wrist and a mere 3# of available pressure to exert with left hand

I am by the way, right handed or actually was right dominant but as a fighter used left hand very well in punching and takedowns.

                                ~sigh~

Long road, many techniques but all tried and proven methods thus far have come up -0-, ~zilch~ nada

Thanks for the suggestion thou LordShiva
