I don't assume you would have anything, I meant Obama supporters as a whole, someone somewhere would post something that would make its way around.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- Think of a game. Any game. Now try to put a bet on it. There's a fair chance that in Las Vegas someone will give you odds and take your money.

On everything, that is, except the U.S. presidential election.

It is against the law in Las Vegas (and thereby everywhere else) to bet on the outcome of the race for the White House.

Why? No-one seems entirely certain, but it probably has something to do with it being unseemly to bet on something as important as the White House.

Some members of Congress believe all spread betting is immoral and should be banned. The presidential election is just the big enchilada in this respect.

But of course, Las Vegas didn't get to be the gambling capital of the world without being canny.

And even though you can't bet in the city, and no casino is giving you the chance, there are plenty of betting services that are offering up the odds on this years race.

Is Chris Matthews always this gay for Obama? I made the mistake of flipping by MSNBC today and was shocked by the level of man crush.

              Latest Obama gaffe:

"... .. The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person who, uh, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know there's a reaction that's been been bred into our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way and that's just the nature of race in our society. We have to break through it. ... .
We have to consider the question, did Obama serve in the military? It is because, as the American President, he was also the Chief of the Armed Forces..

Exactly. Old people distrusting=probably a good thing, imho. Typical white person? A very unfortunate (and unnecessary) adjective to throw out there. For someone who is so eloquent at speeches, its a very clumsy statement, one that I don't think he meant as it came out.

I'm looking forward to the "typical white person" repub ads that will be coming out this fall. I would be tempted to get a tee-shirt that says it, and then an arrow pointing to my face.

What else would you call a white person who wasn't an overt racist but who also wasn't totally colorblind? Sounds pretty typical to me.

I liked where Hannity said that -- although there was no evidence showing that Obama endorsed Reverand Wright's views -- if Obama did, there was a possiblity of there being a racist and an anti-Semite being elected to the White House.

                        Let the GOP mudslinging begin.

As she was white I presume she was thrown under the front of the bus?

Cepting that he characterized ole granny as saying some pretty disturbing (read racially laden monikers) behind closed doors. Not so typical. And the point being, why the attempt to typify and stereotype in the first place isn't that the gist of racism?

As she was white, she was only under the bus in the first place due to forced bussing.

Because Obama's point was that people, in this case his white grandmother, while being far less racist than what we normally think of as "racist," still carry racists tendencies. Obama followed the quoted portion by related when, on occasion, his beloved granny would spout out some anti-Black rhetoric right in front of him.
