Guys, I think the pic in post 153 was taken at NetNet's house in Mabini. Those are wooden sliding shutters over the window spaces.
In post 155, behind NetNet looking so pretty is the hole for the spiral staircase. I hadn't seen it without the plywood form yet.Last edited by Lancer; April 19, 2008, 14:16.Long time member @ Apolyton

Oh, are you a botanist?
Btw, Dolores says the flags are for the upcoming fiesta celebration.I should have known that, we're both itching to throw sanity to the wind and go to fiesta.

Fiesta in Pondol is May one so we start out the party. Then each street in Jagna has a different fiesta day in May all month long. I think there's 2 days with two streets having fiesta on the same day. Since it's first however Pondol is one of the biggest. We usually cook up 4 pigs at our house alone. Being a rich American(All Americans are considered rich there)I gotta step up to the plate. Which reminds me I have to send some money so Sho can buy some piglets to raise for the May after this one.
There's a family/friends only time the evening before fiesta and then on May 1 pretty much anybody can come to the gate. Rigo of Poly House fame has worked as a security guard so he's on the gate only letting people in when people leave. In the past we've had crushing crowds inside the house but no more. We cycle them through and they get some protein which is pretty rare in the diet of many.
I think next year I'll be there for the family/friends part which is a blast but if I can escape to the Garcia property during the mob scene on May 1 I will.
We have to hire a bunch of helpers for all the work, it's really something. Both the inside kitchen and 'dirty' kitchen out back by the boarding house are going full bore all day. At the end of the day everyone's got a full belly which is nice to be a part of. The boarding house is full of visiting family since school doesn't start until June the college girls aren't there yet. It's really handy to have.
NetNet and her sister Christina and Maravic and Malou always work really hard to help out at fiesta time too.
Dolores runs the whole thing plus visits with the guests, she's amazing!Last edited by Lancer; April 19, 2008, 16:10.Long time member @ Apolyton
