Actually, I think he got my point. Berz doesn't appear to believe in a society of laws. Such a view is unorthodox, and it might get Berz & Co. in trouble from time to time from the law men sent by DanS & Co., but I acknowledge that one can hold such a view without being insane. He could also advocate honestly for a moral society as opposed to a society of laws. Even John Brown may not have been insane. Of course, he was hanged.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui
You miss his point entirely. S'ok though, what DanS was saying is that if you believe in a society of laws, it is hard to really criticize a Law Enforcement Official for upholding the law. That's his job. His job isn't to decide which laws are moral or immoral. That's for others to do. He simply is required to enforce the laws already in place. Otherwise, what sense is democracy when a single law man can decide he doesn't want to follow the law.
Edit: Overall, I can see that the law is often not evenly applied. However, Spitzer appears to have been one of the good guys in that regard (mostly), notwithstanding the details of this scandal released so far. As a small investor, I feel like he was looking out for my interests in addition to him helping himself to the publicity.
