Need help formatting a W2k computer

To both questions, the answer is "No... as far as I can tell"

Firefox is running very slow on the computer. I think the computer is a P3 or thereabouts - not a new rig by any stretch. Is there anything that can be done to make it run faster with less resources needed?

Is it vanilla Firefox, with no extensions? Firefox on Linux can at times chug along like a dying wheelchair.

I'm pretty sure it is, yep. I didn't want to add anything to it because the old PC was having such a hard time of it.

It's not the browsing that's slow, is it? More the loading and doing anything?

That one might be a bit trickier: match your processor (amd or intel), Ubuntu version, and make sure you get i386.
