Almost all French Canadian swear words are directly related to the Roman Catholic church..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Also, in recent years, they've started inventing new swearwords derived from the old ones, but they mean the same thing.
Example:
Calisse
has become
Coline.
I have no idea how that works. Can someone explain it to me?Resident Filipina Lady Boy Expert.

Huh, "Câline" has existed for a long time.
Variants like this are supposed to be less vulgar than the raw swear words, while sounding similar.
For instance:
Tabarnac -> Tabaslak, Tabarnouche, tabarouette, etc.
Crisse -> Chlisse, Clisse
Hestie -> Esprit
You can even have, for "Saint-Ciboire de Tabarnac", "Cinq-six boétes de tomates vartes".In Soviet Russia, Fake borises YOU.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned
