You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

            So lets see...

I can do the "make two tones" thing (the hum-whistle, actually it's used in Buddhist Chanting too with the deep throaty voice)

And I can put my toes in my mouth. I just do that for giggles though, not to bite my toenails.

I have many other secret talents, but most have been attained through Buddhist practise and must remain secret. Nyah!

Although one, and very serious, is my "hobby" of being a therapist/guru, to a handful of the poor confused lost souls in this world, whom I've crossed paths with. Both over the Internet and in real life...
At one end of the spectrum, a hot 21 year old American girl, who says she feels I'm exactly the right person for her to talk to (about life and such). Naturally, I do not plan to dissuade her of her idea that celibacy is actually an ok life choice . As a Buddhist Celibate, women do see me as someone they can trust, as a neutral party. It's funny.
But at the other end of the spectrum, a man in my neighborhood, who is currently a single father (of a baby and toddler) because his girlfriend is in prison. He is what most people would call a real no-hoper, a family living in total desperation. I hope to give him, her and their kids, a little hope... just put a little inspiration into their lives...
And I do have talent for this, it's like how I solve strategy problems in CIV. Except through Buddhist understanding and compassion, I can apply it to peoples problems in life too... it's a much better use of my time.

Yes I'm holier than thou. You can either deal with it by scorning me, OR, you could listen to Ajahn Brahm and cultivate some compassion and skillful means for yourself .

AND he manages to brag about the way he's sublimated his repressed sexuality into some sort of weird platonic mentor relationship with chicks other guys would be having actual sex with. Impressive.

What nonsense, he's never started a discussion on it on this thread in the first place. He stated an opinion of his, offered a piece of his own POV. The only one discussing things here are you, and Wezil. If you don't care for his POV, why not just ignore him?

It's a general issue at this place. He has a very distinct way of approaching stuff and OFFERS insight into his approach to other people - all he receives is some bull**** on the grounds that it's somewhat "religious" and so un-scientific. I guess happy pills and hour long internet surfing are more scientific and "true" ways of dealing with whatever life problems people feel confronted with.

I have absolutely no problem with it, but IMHO the percentage of Blake's posts that include a mention of Buddhism has risen noticeably in the past couple months. Or maybe he's just posting more (shrug). That's my unscientific observation.

I don't have a problem with it either. It is no more strange than other religious/spiritual beliefs out there.

There is a problem with being a one trick pony however. People stop paying attention when they tire of the trick.
