I was in Quebec City near the end of January during the big snow storm weekend.

I had never seen so much accumulated snow. You couldn't see most of the houses in residential areas.

What's funny is that they are still way faster at getting the streets clean than in Montreal or Ottawa.

I think they have a lot of different laws though (for example, about dumping on people's property) and are better organized also.

We don't have an exceptional amount of snow (like maybe a couple of feet accumulated in my front yard) and, as I look out the window, it's nice and sunny without a cloud in the sky.

But the frickin wind-chill is -44 C/-47F and it seems like it's been like this since early January. Bring on Spring!

I'm sure you guys love your ancestors who when they had to decide what colony to emigrate to, somehow thought Canada sounded so much more pleasant than Australia

Australia has too much stuff that will kill you. Get bit by a spider? Dead. Go for a swim and step on the wrong thing? Dead. Hell, you can get eaten by a friggin great white shark.

New Zealand. That's where the smart ancestors went.

We got 18 cm in London (2nd largest of the season).

Another 15-25 cm predicted for Friday night. *sigh*

                  I wasn't complaining!
                  Bring on the snow!

I guess that's a bit hypocritical since I'm out of the country atm, but I'm shoveling snow in spirit....Yeah right...

Doesn't make up for having to be around crazy people all day.

Crazy people in Vancouver? Where? Actually, it's not the crazy people that bother me so much as the people that are smug in that laid back West Coast style. Fortunately I live on the East Side where that is kept to a minimum.

                        35 cm Friday-Saturday, minimum

Might be enough to set an all time high for a season.

Ok, that's good for a snow day or two. I'll take a few days of -30 over that any time

Nah, I'll take the snow. When you don't have to go out it doesn't really matter. I have never had a "too cold" day however. I have to put up with that no matter how cold it gets.
