Get plenty and plenty of water. Add extra salt to your meals. Get fresh air in your home more often than normal, or even better, get outside for a while if at all possible. Don't lie in bed except when actually sleeping, try to stay as active as you can while awake. That way you'll get better rest when you do go to sleep.

I hope you get well soon.

Furthermore, it is highly unlikely for any 'toxins' in the water to evaporate along with the steam. Steam generally is purified water, unless something is dissolved in the water that has a boiling point around that of water (and most things dissolved in water are solids at any reasonable temperature). Alcohol or vinegar would go into the steam (although they likely would 'steam' well before the water did); most other things would just stay in the water.

There's a reason professional journals don't publish most of this toxin **** ... it's because it's nearly entirely bogus science, easily disprovable by someone with only an undergraduate college education. A real scientist specializing in this stuff would just laugh... Certainly there are very bad things that you can ingest that you shouldn't, but in most cases those things are intentionally ingested (ie, THC, heroin, alcohol, tobacco)...
Look bud, I'm growing tired of this. There are toxins in the water. That's a fact. I know because, as I've told you I've had reactions to steam for example. Those toxins come from the environment, and we aren't talking about beneficial toxins.

Now how these harmfull toxins hurt your body has not been scientifically proven, but all that means is that they haven't found a way to prove that they are harmfull to you. So you are working under that assumption that they are not harmfull to you because it hasn't been proven that they are. That's flawed logic.

If you want to go on believing something like that go ahead, but stop acting so arrogant about it.

Next time, decide not to get sick beforehand.

As far as toxins in the water, I'll have to agree. Fluoridation is one nasty communist plot to sap and impurify our precious bodily fluids.

Also, cut down on the marrijuana. I never got sick so much as when I used to smoke that **** all the time. I got the same flu as you have and I only got sick for about 12 hours.

You're the one using junk science here. Toxins generally do not evaporate along with steam (for example, heavy metals); only organic 'toxins' or dissolved gasses would evaporate like that (and not all of those by a long shot).

If you reacted to steam, you either were reacting to the dust in your air (very possible), or the temperature of the water was different from what you were expecting (perhaps hotter, and thus more steam). It's very unlikely there was anything in the water that was still present in gaseous form, unless it was highly chlorinated water, and I don't think I've ever heard of tap water that was chlorinated enough to actually affect you (you'd taste it strongly well before it would cause any damage - more like pool water level, which is extremely strong tasting). It's possible you were reacting to the chlorine, but I don't expect so (particularly in OK which should be relatively low chlorine i'd think as it's probably not using lake water).

My issue with you is that you've accepted this 'toxin' theory without having any understanding of what it actually is. If you had your water tested and could tell me what was in the water, I'd believe you; failing that, I see no reason to believe there is anything more significant in your tap water than any other city's tap water. Most cities have much more stringent guidelines for purity of water than most bottled water does, and (actual scientific!) tests have repeatedly shown that bacteria levels and heavy metal levels are MUCH higher in bottled water than in city water - to the point that a neutropenic individual (immune deficient to the point of not being able to fight off bacterial infection) cannot safely drink some bottled waters - but generally can safely drink tap water with no concern.

If you want to go ahead and ignore scientific evidence, go ahead ... but don't pretend you're not ignoring it. I can't imagine an arrogance greater than assuming that people who have spent decades studying something know less than you, who have spent a few hours on the subject...

I love the way people can get worked up at each other by only water. You guys got stress or what?

Btw, you get stress from too much carbonated water.

My stomach gets annoyed by it... too much H2CO3 -> H2O+CO2 I think. *burp*

H2CO3 in the soda breaks down into H2O and CO2 in my stomach (and in the soda prior to that, but it's the in-stomach part that concerns me). Certainly it goes back into H2CO3 (mostly in the blood), but some of the CO2 is released into gaseous form in my stomach. Thus for my purposes it's a one-way reaction

A little Civ and a little nap and I'm feeling much better.

I've taken my nighttime cough medicine so as long as it works and I can actually get a good night sleep I should be ready to roll in the morning.

The symptoms in the order they appeared:

                                Dizzy/lightheaded (last Thursday morning)
Pains in the stomach and chest (Thursday)
                                Chills/sweats (Thursday night through Saturday)

                                Chest cough (Sunday - present)

I have not been terribly congested in either my sinus's or lungs.

I've been taking cold remedy (aching/fatigue stuff), tea, Tylenol and THC ( ). I made an urgent run to the drugstore for cough remedy this morning.
