I think this just illustrates what kind of "people" we are dealing with here. Lost causes.

SlowwHand: This is not a normal riot. This seems to be a small group of trouble-makers. Who after having considered the situation to the limit of their mental abilities choose this course of action...

It's because kindergartens and schools are conformist factories!

Pretty close; schools are the places where they failed to fit it, so they are taking their revenge.

Ordinarily, they would have. People on a permit to stay are not summarily thrown out. However, since 2002 and in the rarest of cases, the police can recommend that persons who do not hold citizenship be expelled, and upon approval by the Ministers of Justice and Immigration Affairs respectively, they will be sent on their merry way, without the courts getting involved.

These are interesting times we live in, as cases like this one serve to remind us. Basically, if people behave themselves, they have rights, plenty. These two didn't.

Well, rights are not supposed only to apply to perfectly behaved model citizens.

IMO there should have been a judge involved.

Not according to the law. Which by the way was passed by a ~5/6 majority specifically with regard to situations such as this.

Just because it is written in the law does not mean that it isn't wrong.

For example, how big a majority passed the media license...

True. ( ) But it's still pretty darn near a general consensus.

I cry no tears for these two characters and others like them. I should hope you won't either.

I have no problem with throwing non-citizens out of a country. But if these folks are second or third generation immigrants, they probably should have been granted citizenship in the first place. I have the same problems with the French system (and others).
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

No, it's the terrorists who are not citizens. The immigrants are.

All these white countries with aging populations which forgot to have kids are bringing in foriegn labor to do the work. Bringing in moslems is nuts because they a r e the e n e m y, they make themselves that by their actions. New Zealand has the right idea. They have opened up immigration from the Philippines so they will at least end up with friends among them.

It is exactly a normal riot. Riots are not the majority. Riots are violent attention-getting events by the minority.

Where's tear gas and rubber bullets? Riots are supposed to be put down.
