I'm deaf, so I find PolyCast insulting
I'm sorry you feel that way -- that's not the intention nor do I hope it's the end result. That said, we have been unable to find someone to volunteer to regularly transcribe episodes -- AAHZ did a couple -- despite our efforts to do so. The difficulty is certainly largely based on the time involved to do so.
I have looked into some other possibilities. While not necessarily cost prohibitive, software-based transcriptions are not -- or at least -- would not be terribly reliable given the variety of speakers we have on the show (i.e. 'training' to understand pronunciations). Human transcription services can and should be more accurate but are (prohibitively) expensive. This would be particularly true of PC given how frequently shows are released, how long they are and how many speakers there are. Indeed a number of services I have come across charge more than their standard rate for 2+ or 3+ speakers and others still wouldn't touch it at all.
Should someone reading this be willing and able to transcribe PolyCast episodes on a regular or even semi-regular basis, please PM me. We would like to have as many if not all episodes transcribed on an ongoing, timely basis.
well now that the show has been shortened that is good for me to do it again, if need be. For me, now, to transcribe 2 shows on such a regular basis, however, is almost funny to comprehend at the moment.
IF however your original offer stands I would be glad to do it again, if only at a semi regular basis.
I AM a person that likes to be rewarded for their efforts, however, and I believe there was a great bit of miscommunication before regarding the last promised transcriptions...

To be clearer, we wouldn't expect or ask one person to transcribe both PolyCast and ModCast -- one or the other.

Sure, but the question is, how many poeple?
Let's just say that the number of downloads for the ModCast #1 and PolyCast #35 are quite, quite high (think easily above 500) and they just came out.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Around 500 people post on Apolyton's forums in any given week. By our most conservative estimates ~300 people listened to (each of) the latest two PolyCasts and so far 400 people to the pilot episode of ModCast that was released this Sunday (due to the way the technology works the real numbers are probably somewhere between those and twice those but we prefer to err on the side of caution). Our Christmas Special has had ~850 downloads. Does that answer your question?

Don't worry about ModCast, if you're still into doing this (), focus on PolyCast.
This new show, which will still fall under the greater PolyCast banner and be released bi-weekly in an alternating schedule with PolyCast itself, will be looking at modding of the Civilization series, with a strong focus on Civilization IV. The panelists will be composed of four veteran modders: former PC panelist and Desert War co-creator Wouter "Locutus" Snijders, Second Revolution creator and Road to War artist Tony "GarretSidzaka" Kiehl, MXMLL co-creator and CCCP team leader Kenneth "Impaler[WrG]" Ferland and last but not least Better Ship Scale creator and Age of Decadence artist Oscar "Elhoim" Velzi.
