(1) deciding for whom I going to vote on Super Tuesday.

(2) taking a look at my finances to see if I can retire early.

(3) going through my backed-up mail to make sure it's all junk mail before tossing it.

(4) making arrangements for my upcoming vacation

(5) prowling Old Towne Pasadena.

That's precisely what I think it is, a real problem. That particular joke in Denver was not racist, it was an attempt to be funny at a prominently staged and widely attended gridiron dinner-like event. It failed. Thus, it's symptomatic of where you're lying to yourselves by focusing on truely trivial, irrelevant issues while leaving the real problems unattended to.
