Two days ago we had rain while the temperatures at the ground were below zero.
The final result was that everything was covered with 2-3 mm of ice. Walking was a majour PITA.

That storm blew through here a day or two ago (complete with the thunder). It was great for melting the snow buildup.

We missed the storm, but we've had a lot of high winds the last few days and temperatures up around +10 C. Since Parliament isn't in session, I assume all the hot air was from the same storm front.

You like it when rain melt all the snow? I much prefer a system in which temps fall to below freezing, snow, temps stay below freezing, spring arives, snow melts. This cycle should occur once/year.
I hate the melt, mud, re-freeze, inch thick ice in the dog's yard, slime, filth mess that we've had for the past week.

Yes, very much so. Snow serves no useful purpose.
I work with the transportation industry to keep polluting trucks on the road and I can't wait for global warming to cure this snow problem for good. The results thus far in my lifetime have been impressive.

Don't you end up with more transportation problems with the melt/refreeze/black ice issue?
I would be OK with it if we could eliminate snow/freeze altogether. I wouldn't miss it much -- it's just this in between Missouri-like weather I don't like.

Not really. The ground outside looks like late winter/early spring. It's not pretty but it is snow and ice free. A quick freeze after a mild period with rain can be bad news (the black ice issue) but that is rare.

Great... Canada will turn into a tropical paradise while Texas becomes a desert. --Hey, wait a minute.
