I don't even think we're debating anymore -- I've been convinced that water is essential for complete cleanliness while TP is not. I'm just not sure how to implement a water-only technique without spending the rest of the day with wet pants.

Actually, the trick is in the food you eat.

Good Food --> Good solid excrement --> virtually no wipey needed.
(in fact, the better the food, the less visits to the toilet needed )

DirtyMartini, I don't know how to really work that problem either. I'd probably do just as poorly as you would do the first time . Then again, I wouldn't try to clean my butt with my hand but with the water.... I think you might be tempted.

But wet result, how to deal with that.. I think it's just skill, so that very minimal part of the area is wet and doesn't really matter. I don't know though, better ask these non-TP savages.

I prefer the roll off the roller actually. But only if I have a bathroom of my own.

(Once we ran out and only had baby-wipes. To be honest I prefer those "off the top". Pull one out and another's just right there ready and waiting. Babies have life so good.)

Squatting helps to reduce the part exposed to the **** dropping out . Often the 'water only' approach is done in bloody hot countries, where you're sweaty anyway, so who gives a **** about a wet anus caused by cool water?

Actually, wrong. High fiber food (good food) has you going to the toilet once or twice a day.

Rich/etc food gets you constipated and yuo don't go to the toilet for a week.

water is cool though, as long as you don't have diarrhea. Then I just feel sorry for your savage cultures.
