Just to clarify.

In no way could US military action against Canada ever be profitable or worthwhile. Even if hypothetically speaking it were possible for the entire rest of the world to endorse US military action against Canada the Canadians would certainly manage to make the operation a costly worthless fustercluck. I have no doubt that guerrilla warfare and sabotage and passive resistance would render the entire vast region economically disconnected from the US so that the US would be in every sense worse off for pursuing such evil stupidity.

I just don't see how canada could militarily defeat the US military as currently constituted.

Of course you can't see it. We have stealth technology. Nobody ever thinks about us, and that's the way we like it. However...

Stealing NORAD and nuking you with your own weapons would be too easy.

We'd have to devise other ways to humiliate you as we kick your asses back across the parallel.

Look at WW2 Europe, when you're nation is occupied you are much more motivated to get guns.
Not to mention secret support by other nations.
