I would venture to say that closest we got any form of modern state-level sanctioned violence for Christians was in northern Ireland in the 1990s.
You mean besides the 30 Years War and the Crusades?

Fair enough. I missed the "modern" bit.

            What?

The violence in NI was not really about religion, despite the different religions of the opposing sides. Nor was it at anywhere near its peak in the 90's. As far as the state role goes - are you referring to the actions of the British Army & Police, or the covert backing to / collusion with some Loyalist paramilitaries? The provos were not state backed - unless you mean Libya.

CH - Don't interfere with a healthy dose of moral relativism. We were all just as bad, it just happens to be Muslims at the moment...

We need a 'Define moral relativism' thread.

                    Moral relativism
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Didn't realize the 30 Years War and the Crusades happened in recent times (1990s).

In terms of a linear time logic, Islam is about 6-800 years younger. Its still a rebelious teenager.
