    I more or less agree with Arrian and Pekka on similar things.
    If these were designed now I would be strongly against them, but after a while they gain a sort of historical value in my eyes.

      What would be a sufficient "while"?

      "Under God" (in the pledge) and "In God We Trust" (on paper money) are recent developments, present since the 1940s. America did just fine without them for nearly 200 years...

        Oh, I agree, Guy. They're not ancient history or anything, and I'd prefer to do without them.

        But there are better battles to fight, IMO. Regardless of the validity of the argument, most people have a strong "oh, come on, even THAT?" reaction to this.
